After Opening Day at Del Mar, Jockey for a Cause!
Tomorrow (July 18) is Opening Day at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club–a day full of pretty people, handsome horses and the One and Only Truly Fabulous Hats Contest!
This year, Opening Day is also a time to give back to the jockeys who risk their lives–and limbs–competing, at the Official Del Mar Opening Day Charity Event to Benefit the Disabled
Jockey Fund & the Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation, which assists riders and others in the industry facing a financial crisis.
Jockey for a Cause will feature a “Taste of San Diego,” with delectable treats from local restaurants, and open bar, entertainment by Contemporary Jazz “Best New Artist of the Year” nominee Kyle Wolverton and his All Star Band, followed by several top DJ’s, including headliner DJ Skribble and more! Generous sponsors include Vice Versa Winery, and Patrón Tequila.
The star-studded event will be held from 6pm-12am at The DeHaven Estate in Rancho Santa Fe, and top jockeys like
Joe Talamo, Mike Smith and Rafael Bejarano will be there! California Life’s Audra Stafford will also be there, to bring you all the excitement!
Tickets for the event are $100 in advance, $200 day-of. They’re available at www.pdjf.org.
If you wish to purchase your tickets by phone please call 630-234-6691.
If you are unable to attend but want to make donation on behalf of Jockey For A Cause, please mail your donations to PDJF, P.O. Box 803, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Indicate on your remittance Jockey For A Cause or JAC.
