California Life tells you how to get your allergies under control this season

Unseasonably warm weather is making this early spring season difficult for millions of Americans who suffer from asthma and allergies. To help adults and children who are experiencing symptoms find out if they are at risk, Los Angeles- and Orange County-area allergists will be conducting free asthma and nasal allergy screenings in your area beginning in May. Screening dates in your area include:

May 1, 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Marina Del Rey Hospital, 4644 Lincoln Blvd., 1st Floor Conference Room, Marina Del Rey

May 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Warner Brothers Studio Lot, 4000 Warner Blvd., Commissary, Burbank

May 19, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Palos Verdes Half Marathon & 5K, Terranea Resort, 6610 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes

May 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Huntington Beach Duck-A-Thon, Huntington Beach Pier, 1 Main St., Huntington Beach

June 2, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Walmart Pharmacy, 8230 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach

These screenings are part of the 16th annual Nationwide Asthma Screening Program, sponsored by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).

For those already diagnosed with any of the conditions, the screening provides the chance to ensure their condition is under control.

Attached is a news release on the screening program. We hope you can help us raise awareness of this important public service campaign this year. We would be happy to arrange an inteview with a Southern California allergist who could discuss the importance of these screenings.
