In honor of Father’s Day, I had one of our favorite guests back on our show California Life. I caught an article about Chris Pegula aka – The Diaper Dude – in People magazine a few weeks ago. After the birth of his first child, Chris found himself frustrated with the lack of Dad-friendly baby accessories and decided to create a line of diaper bags “cool” enough for any Guy to carry.

He also has started a thriving website where Dads can “Ask the Dude” advice. Guys need a resource as much as we do. Back before the Diaper Dude, I made my poor husband read chapters from The Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy.

I made sure he didn’t miss important parts – like the need to buy your wife a special gift after she gives birth. My husband was also forced to carry around my very Girly Coach diaper bag. By the time we discovered the Diaper Dude, we were done having children – or so we thought…

The first time the Diaper Dude came on our show, I gave my sample bag to a friend. I’m sure you can guess what happened next, we had a surprise and baby #3 came 9 months later. Hmmm… could be a good marketing campaign for the Diaper Dude – similar to the restaurants that advertise they have “The” Salad guaranteed to put any pregnant woman in labor.

This time, Chris gave me the newest sample of his Eco-Dude Diaper bag – only to have it snatched up by one of our interns. He thought it was so cool, he plans to use it to carry his books. Hey – He did mention he wants five children…..
