Throughout the musical, reporter Christina Erwin found herself singing along to the classic lyrics above. But beyond being “ooky” and “spooky” she reported The Addams Family musical as hilarious.
The family friendly musical did an excellent job of paying homage to the original black and white television show, while providing entertaining pop culture references for new fans (Charlie Sheen jabs anyone…). In the musical comedy Gomez, Morticia and the gang are shocked by the news that their beloved Wednesday wants to marry a disturbingly normal boy who is bringing his parents over to meet the creepy family. In typical Addams fashion, ghoulish drama ensues.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY made its L.A. Premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and will be there for a limited 2 week engagement from June 5 – 17.
Tickets are available at www.broadwayLA.org or www.Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-982-2787, as well as at the Pantages Box Office (6233 Hollywood Blvd) and all Ticketmaster Outlets. Performances are Tues-Thu at 7:30PM, Friday at 8PM, Saturday at 2PM & 8PM and Sunday at 1PM & 6:30PM. Recommended for ages 7 & up (Everyone must have a ticket; children under 5 will not be admitted to the theatre) Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes including intermission. Tickets start at $25.
