Raising self-confident kids is the goal of every parent, but the recent Teen Confidence Survey found that social media is amplifying common teen insecurities and peer pressure.
According to the survey, social media is increasing already sensitive areas around developing bodies like crooked teeth, acne, teasing and self-confidence.
Parenting expert and author Erika Katz says parents need to understand how stressful these things can be and help kids come up with ways to deal with them.
For example, instead of braces, which have always been a source for teasing, she recommends Invisalign Teen clear aligners, which straighten teeth without a mouth full of metal.
