With the New Year in full swing and most New Year’s resolutions a thing of the past, California Life‘s Concetta DeLuco caught up with celebrity doctor and dietician, Dr. Ian Smith to get some tips to help you jumpstart your healthier lifestyle. You may recognize Dr. Ian from popular shows like Rachel Ray, The Doctors or Celebrity Fit Club.
Dr. Ian says that by February, a third of the people who had resolved to lose weight in the New Year had already broken their resolution. The New York Times Best Selling author is known for his “shredder” program. His new book, Shred Power Cleanse, is intended to help kick start today for a healthier tomorrow with a two-week cleanse program that has helped over 30,000 “shredders” drop up to 10 pounds within that time frame.
The cleanse program doesn’t include any artificial powders, just healthy, clean food such as smoothies, specifically the Purple Power Detox Smoothie; snacks like nuts, fruits and vegetables; and delicious meals combined with exercise. Dr. Ian’s motto is “Let thy food be thy medicine,” as a way to eliminate toxic substances from the body and he incorporates that, not only in his cleanse program, but his other “Shred” programs.
Dr. Ian has also organized the “Shred Power Nation,” an online group that brings together over 10,000 people virtually for the purpose of supporting each other in their path toward healthier living.
