The holiday season is fast approaching and according to a new survey by Coinstar 78% of gift givers said their feelings toward the holidays were happy and about one-third said they love shopping for holiday gifts.
In contrast, half of adults said they stress about giving the right holiday gift, even though many don’t remember what gifts they received last year. Whether stressed or not over holiday shopping, the vast majority said it gives them more joy to give a gift than to receive.
Though money can often be a source of stress budgeting for gifts can be a stress reliever. Two-thirds of those surveyed said they have a holiday gift budget, with 42 percent of holiday shoppers planning to spend between 100 and 400 dollars on holiday gifts this year. Those who need a holiday budget boost are turning to their coin jar, nearly half are planning or considering cashing in spare change to help pay for holiday purchases this season.
