Go back in time to Hearst Castle’s Hollywood heyday

The landmark Hearst Castle in San Simeon is a museum unlike any other in the United States. And during its heyday in the 1920s and 30s, Hearst Castle was also a hotspot for Hollywood’s elite.

A-listers like Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks were regulars at La Cuesta Encantada or, “The Enchanted Hill,” as Hearst called it.

They were often invited to dine, play tennis and enjoy the now-iconic Neptune Pool, as well as Hearst’s extensive fine art collection.

More than 25,000 pieces of art remain at Hearst Castle today. Visitors to the California State Park can see the collection and walk through the same gardens those celebrities did nearly 100 years ago.
