Pet owners love their dogs, but sometimes their itching and scratching can drive us crazy. Your first thought may be fleas, but experts say it could be a sign of canine allergies. California Life’s David Wylie brings us the inside scoop.
Dogs scratch, lick, bite and rub – that’s just what they do. While many us associate a dogs constant itching to something like fleas, Dr. Werber says frequent or constant scratching, licking, or rubbing are most often signs of an allergic skin disease.
And while there are over the counter remedies like shampoos or lotions, Dr. Werber cautions pet owners that they are not always very effective.
