Palm Spring Film Festival Updates

Every year we get the amazing opportunity to hit the red carpet at the Palm Springs Film Festival

However, in 2021 we will not be able attend due to COVID-19 restrictions.

For 31 years, the Palm Springs International Film Festival has been bringing together an international community of filmmakers and film lovers to celebrate the riches that cinema presented that year. We’ve rushed into packed screening rooms, shared food and conversation and made lifelong connections with people standing in lines. This festival has been about sharing our love for movies, but even more, it’s been about creating personal connections for our audiences.

As we reach the end of the year, it is clear that we will not be able to present the film festival the way we have over the past 31 years. This is not an easy choice but we have made the decision to skip the 2021 edition. Rest assured we plan to be back in 2022 when we can hopefully be together safely again in theaters. We are still planning to celebrate and honor the best in cinema with our Film Awards Presentation on February 25, 2021 and plans for our annual short film festival scheduled for June 22-28, 2021 remain intact. Details on those will be shared before the end of the year.

Until then the Palm Spring International Film Society will continue their mission of sharing cinema with the world. They have extended memberships until February 2020 with no additional costs. Year-round member screenings and events will continue virtually until theaters are safe to open.

This event is always an amazing event and are sad we are not be able to attend this year. We wanted to take a look back at our past experiences at the festival.

In 2020, the event was filled with stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Jamie Foxx, Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas to name a few. The hostess was Mary Hart who presented awards to Antonio Banderas (International Star Award, Actor), Laura Dern (Career Achievement Award), Adam Driver (Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor), Cynthia Erivo (Breakthrough Performance Award), Jamie Foxx (Spotlight Award, Actor); Zack Gottsagen (Rising Star Award), Jennifer Lopez (Spotlight Award, Actress), and many more.

In 2019, stars such as Robert De Niro, Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino. Some of the big awards that were given was for Mary Poppins (Ensemble Performance Award), Joanna Kulig in Cold War (Best Actress in a Foreign Film), Sofia (France/Qatar (New Voices New Visions), Marcello Fonte in Dogman (Best Actor in a Foreign Film), The Grizzlies (Audience Award), and many more.

We have attended many more and all have been equally amazing. We look forward to the next event!
