Alicia Stanford finds out what’s in the Hollywood spotlight now. Tom Hanks has been a voice of calm and reason during the Covid-19 outbreak. The star announced he and wife Rita Wilson had been diagnosed and were being treated in Australia, saying they were following doctor’s orders and keeping isolated.

As many of us are feeling isolated, here are a few Tom Hanks movies that may just make us feel a little bit better. Hanks was nominated for his first Oscar in nearly 20 years for his role as Fred Rogers in It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

The movie tells the story of Rogers’ interaction with a jaded magazine writer and how that changed the writers life. The movie received an 87 out of 100 from the broadcast Film Critics Association and the Critics Choice seal.

The Oscar winner reprised his role as Woody in Toy Story 4. In this adventure, the gang has a new kid to make happy and Woody has to learn a few lessons about life, love and letting go.

Hanks shines in just about anything he does, so here are a few films to add to your binge list in which the Oscar winner demonstrates his trademark integrity, including The Post, Sully, Bridge of Spies, Saving Mr. Banks, Castaway, The Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan and his two Academy award-winning performances Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.
Happy viewing and stay healthy.
