Bachelorette Contestant Jed Wyatt’s Ex Channels Their Heartbreaking Relationship Into New Music

Nashville singer songwriter Haley Stevens shared details about her heartbreaking relationship with Bachelorette front-runner, Jed, in an exclusive interview with People today. Wanting to convey a message of empowerment and inspiration for other women, Stevens felt she had to come forward after journalists contacted her threatening to leak the relationship.

It was important for Stevens to tell her story describing how she channeled her sadness into writing and recording new music for her duo Sweet Leah. The feature traces the timeline of the couples serious relationship leading-up to the day Jed left to participate in the series.

Stevens shares that she had been in a relationship with Jed Wyatt for four months when he headed to LA to start filming The Bachelorette, competing for the heart of Hannah Brown.

According to Stevens, Wyatt assured her that he was only going on the show to launch his career in music, had no romantic feelings for Brown, and would only aim to be a top five player in the show.

Like all Bachelorette contestants, Wyatt could not call or text Stevens until the show was completed. Unable to see what was going on between Wyatt and Brown’s relationship, Stevens grew increasingly anxious. Stevens would follow spoiler accounts, trying to figure out when her boyfriend was coming home. She came to a realization that Wyatt was “ghosting” her when she discovered that he had already returned home to Nashville and had not called her.

As the series progressed and Jed rose in the competition, Haley was devastated, but would not be destroyed. “If I’ve learned anything through this whole situation is that I am stronger than I could have ever imagined. I have been able to channel every ounce of this heartbreak into our music. Julia Kate, my duo partner in Sweet Leah, has had my back the entire time and I have an incredible support system in my friends and family,” adds Stevens.
