In Search for a Teen Humanitarian with Derek Hough of Dancing with the Stars

On stage Derek Hough is a champion dancer. He is a six-time winner on the popular Dancing with the Stars program and is now on the hit TV show World of Dance. Away from the footlights he likes to be involved in improving the world.

There’s a great expression, the secret to living is giving. That’s when you’re giving, I think that really adds to the fulfillment part of your life. I think that when you’re doing service when you’re thinking of others, it’s very very important.

Derek is about to embark on a nationwide dance tour and still has found time to team up with US Cellular on a project called the Future of Good. It’s designed to help support 16 kids under the age of 16 by awarding them $10,000 to help further their good work in their community.

Being in that age and to feel that support, I think is gonna be life-altering. It’s going to be a huge, a huge moment in their lives and in return they’re gonna help so many lives.
