If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to move to another country, one where the language and culture are completely different from your own, you should definitely check out Manner Mode.
Manner Mode’s author Mike Thuresson went to Claremont McKenna College, which is one of The Claremont Colleges, a consortium of seven independent colleges located about 35 miles east of Los Angeles. He has since gone on to work for Tanaka in Tokyo, Japan where he also blogs about his immigrant experience in Japan.
Among the topics Thuresson has covered ~ the gauntlet that is the Japanese driver’s license course, learning how to nap in the native style, making the Tokyo salaryman fashion assimilation and taking baths in water flowing with electric currents in order to snuff a hangover.
Manner Mode also features illustrations by professional Japanese manga artist Rena Seiya.
Seiya even did a sketch of California Life’s host Heather Dawson!
To see more of Seiya’s artwork and learn about Thuresson’s experiences in Japan, visit Manner Mode.
