Get Your Everyday Car out on the Race Tracks!

If you were under the impression that it took a $500,000 racecar to come out and drive a track like Auto Club Speedway here in Fontana California, well guess again for events like this you can bring out your everyday driver and have some fun here on the track.

It’s known as Track Night, and through this initiative from the Sports Car Club of America, drivers are being introduced to the opportunity of taking their everyday car and getting the chance to drive on a real race circuit. Unlike other events conducted by the SCCA, track night is not meant to be an outright racing event but it suggests a safe and controlled way of driving your streetcar in a high-performance environment. SCCA track night in America powered by The Tire Rack is all about having fun with cars. The big key is everybody’s here to have fun, they’re in their streetcars, everybody plays nicely together, everybody has a good time and everyone brings a car home in one piece, that’s that big goal for the night.

They have a novice group with novice coaches that get you up to speed at your level and comfort. They get you out on track and circulate at the pace you’re comfortable with and do all passing with a point-buy and that gets everybody that’s going by anybody on the same page and when everybody’s working together it works very well. Judging by the excitement created by Track Night it’s purpose is certainly being achieved. If you ever had the urge to be like Mario Andretti you need to check out Track Night with the SCCA from the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
