Breast cancer is a terrible disease that doesn’t discriminate against age or gender. That’s why the Ontario Mills mall partnered with Susan G. Komen in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to take a stand against the disease at their More Than Pink Walk that took place on October 1st.
Walkers dressed in pink, joined together and took two laps around the continuously expanding mall – which is about 2 miles in length – while celebrating survivors and current fighters of the disease.
At the event, one breast cancer survivor even passed along a special necklace that symbolized a sense of hope, support and community to a newly diagnosed patient as apart of a beautiful tradition among some fighters of the disease.
All proceeds from the event went towards the research and fight against breast cancer as a partnership between the Ontario Mills and Susan G. Komen.
