2016’s top baby names: the number one name for boys & girls hangs tight for two years in a row

It’s always fun to look back at all of the pop culture significant to the year that you were born including baby names, and why they were popular.

Experts say trends in baby names show American’s evolving taste and behavior, which can be affected by the weather, economy, social influences and where they live. For example, after Hurricane Katrina there was a rise in baby names that started with the letter “K.”

While recent predictions show Donald’s Trump upcoming presidency could impact some of the most popular baby names for 2017.

But, before we get ahead of ourselves, here’s 2016’s list for top baby names.
