Our very own Ava Lynn Thuresson is joined by Buddy Jewell, the very first winner of reality show Nashville Star. His debut release after Nashville Star landed at number one on the Billboard top country album charts and was certified gold later that same year. This release garnered two back to back top five hits; both of these tunes are certified one million radio airplays and he has been recognized by the Grammy’s, ACM’s, CMA’s, ABC Radio Network’s, ICMA’s, and CMT’s with multiple awards and nominations.

Buddy put a lot of work in the studio and recorded over four thousand songs and did demo work. He worked with Clint Black and within two weeks after the show he had a successful record. While working in the studio and being behind the microphone helped his writing.

Jewell’s hit song “Sweet Southern Comfort” was just re-released with the Bellamy Brothers and Marty Raybon. Jewell praised Raybon’s incredible kindness and powerful voice along with everyone else who worked on this project. Jewell talks about how he never thought he would be here and he never thought anything like this would happen and is grateful for the opportunity he was given and continues to receive.
