Pet owners know the responsibility of taking care of their dogs and cats extends to keeping fleas and ticks away, but what may come as surprise, is that 50-percent of homeowners do not know fleas and ticks are living inside their house.
Celebrity Veterinarian Karen “Doc” Halligan, who wrote the award-winning book What Every Pet Owner Should Know: Prescriptions for Happy, Healthy Cats and Dogs, gives tips on keeping these insects away for good by treating your pets, house and yard.
Halligan says to avoid the trouble of getting rid of fleas and ticks, which can take 8-10 weeks, is to prevent getting them in first place.
