As apart of our Halloween Special here on California Life, we explore the new Plaza de la Familia just in time for the Disney Pixar’s movie Coco with Creative Director Susana Tubert at Creative Entertainment with the Disneyland Resort!
Plaza de la Familia is a beautiful celebration of Día de los Muertos and the everlasting bonds of family with music, dancing and color – similar to the story behind Disney’s anticipated film, Coco, coming to theaters everywhere on Thanksgiving Day.
According to Disney, the movie tells the story of Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt).
Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
To learn more about the film and see the celebrations taking place at the Disneyland Resort, watch the full segment below or see it air nationwide on California Life with Heather Dawson.
