Kevin Costner Headlines Outlaws & Legends Music Festival

Decorated actor, director, producer, songwriter and country/rock artist Kevin Costner has joined the lineup for this year’s tenth anniversary Outlaws & Legends Music Fest at the Back Porch of Texas in Abilene on March 19th and 20th. Costner and his band, Modern West, will headline the Friday, March 19thopening night.

Costner is an Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe winner known for a prolific body of work that includes such films as “Field of Dreams,” “Bull Durham,” “Dances with Wolves,” “The Bodyguard” and many others. He is currently the star of  “Yellowstone.” The smash hit television series features the music of Modern West, which has landed on Billboard’s Top 100 Country Album list.

Performing alongside Costner and Modern West at the Festival on Friday night will be award-winning country music artists Mark Powell and Deana Carter with The Hamiltons. Saturday’s headliner is the award-winning, CMA-nominated singer/songwriter Randy Houser, who has written and recorded multiple chart topping songs, including a #1 Country Hit. Completing the star-studded lineup for Saturday are Kevin Fowler, Lee Roy Parnell, Jaime Richards, Curtis Grimes, Jerrod Medulla, and Della Rose.  

“We are beyond thrilled and feel super fortunate to have Kevin Costner and Modern West on our stage March 19th,” said event organizer Mark Powell.

A portion of each Outlaws & Legends ticket sold benefits the Ben Richey’s Boys Ranch. Since 2011, the festival has raised more than $2 million for Abilene non-profits.This year, a number of COVID-19 protocols will be in place to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for event patrons, artists and staff. These include forehead temperature screening on entry, face masks and social distancing.

Tickets purchased for last year’s scheduled event, which was postponed due to the pandemic, are valid this year. In addition, those who purchased tickets for last year’s or this year’s event before 1/15/21 may opt to use them for the 2022 Festival at no additional cost.Willie Nelson, who was originally scheduled to appear at the 10th anniversary Outlaws & Legends, will not be performing this year.

“Willie and team have let us know that they hope to join us for a future festival, and we look forward to welcoming them,” said Mark Powell.

Tickets for the 2021 event on March 19 and 20 are still available, but patrons are advised to purchase quickly as the event is expected to sell out.  A limited selection of general admission tickets and VIP weekend passes at $54 and $420 (plus tax), respectively.
