Mother Knows Best-Where To Shop For Baby For That Special Occasion

Share

My first Mother’s Day came and went and it was absolutely perfect thanks to my beautiful 8-month-old who made me a mom but that’s not to say that it went off without a hitch.

If you read my previous blog, you will recall how much I love shopping online for everything, except clothes. To sum it up, I find that it’s always hard to find quality clothing online that’s fashionable, fits, affordable, and durable, especially for an infant that is constantly growing and changing. For casual clothes, a few reliable brands, like Finn & Emma Organic Baby Clothing, have helped with that dilemma. Mother’s Day, however, rose the issue of finding a formal outfit that satisfied the checklist. I ended up on a wild goose chase driving all over town with a cranky baby on what felt like a hunt for the Great Pumpkin. Fortunately, my early Mother’s Day present was that I didn’t have to go far this time thanks to stumbling upon Feltman Brother’s Vintage Baby Clothes. If you haven’t already heard of them, you’ll be thanking me later.

You see, I’m a sucker for a baby in a bonnet. Especially a chubby cheeked one, like my son. And paired with a buttoned up, knitted romper, with his pink, plump legs dangling. I can’t. I want to eat him up. I unapologetically admit that my dessert on Mother’s Day was biting those juicy cherub cheeks dripping out of his hat. And trust me, I indulged. Thankfully, Feltman Brothers can continue to feed my appetite with their all too darling yet classic designs.

Ruffles, ribbons, bows, buttons, booties, satin gowns, knit overalls, flouncy dresses – Feltman Brothers has mastered the art of elegant, high quality baby clothes for the special occasion. The company proudly boasts that they have been hand embroidering and crafting the timeless clothing out of the same factory since 1916. But with their authentic designs, incomparable fabrics and attention to detail it comes as no surprise that this company has withstood the test of time.

From newborns to toddlers, holiday parties or baptisms, Feltman Brothers has got you covered and will clothe your child in class and style in the shade of pastel pinks, blues and creams. And the best part is, shopping at Feltman Brothers is super convenient. You can find them anywhere. On their website, on Amazon and even in regular ol’ brick and mortar stores like Dillards. Or just google their name and shop around. I guess that’s what happens when you’re kind of a big deal 😉

Now, while sweet and precious baby clothes are certainly my Achilles, reality often sets in when I look at the price tag. Let’s be honest, baby stuff, in general, is expensive. Too frequently a pair of shorts for my son is comparable in price to the pants I bought for myself on the sales rack at H & M. Admittedly, I’m a bargain hunter. I like to get a bang for my buck. But I honestly don’t mind spending more money if you get what you paid for, but sadly, most of the time this is not the case. Too often, I have had to settle for subpar outfits for top dollar prices that often shrink, don’t fit well to begin with or start fading or tearing after a few washes. Fortunately, Feltman Brothers is not only affordable, but durable and reliable.

The average price of an outfit at Feltman Brothers ranges from $37-$49 with some lower and higher options. That may seem somewhat costly but lest we forget the clothes are handmade, and made for noteworthy occasions. These aren’t your run of the mill onesies, they’re meant to be the “wedding dresses” of baby wear. Your child may only don it once, but it will withstand the wear-and-tear of the toughest terrible two-year-old and your child will still look fabulous at the end of the night.

And as far as the sizing goes, Feltman Brothers hits the mark. You can breathe easy knowing that there are no surprises when it comes to buying online. My son is 8 months old and already wears 24-month old clothes, most of the time. The rest of the time, he is in 12 month and 18 month clothes because each brand of baby clothes tends to cut their clothes differently and not accurately. Not the case with Feltman Brothers. I know that if my son measures the size of a 2 year old, I can purchase 24 month clothes and it will fit. Every time. No guessing game and no annoying returns.

But the best part about Feltman Brothers is I know that my son will be the cutest baby in the room when he’s dressed in his little blue suspender set and bow tie. But then again, I might be just a little bit biased.

Quality? Check. Fashionable? Check. Affordable? Check. Durable? Check. Reliable? Check.

Now you don’t have to fuss trying to find your little one the perfect outfit for Father’s Day. Instead, you can spend that extra time finding your hubby the perfect toy helicopter to fly around or some other equally cool present. You’re welcome.
