In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Norwegian Cruise Line is re-launching its ‘Giving Joy’ campaign.
California Life interviewed Senior Vice President of Branding and Communications for Norwegian Cruise Line, Christine Da Silva.
Da Silva shared the inspiration behind the Giving Joy campaign was the undeniable connection between travel and education, both broaden our perspectives and encourage us to try different things, meet new people, and have new experiences.
“Teachers help shape the lives of their students and their communities, so they deserve to go on an adventure. And what better way to say thank you than to give teachers a little bit of the world?”

Norwegian Cruise Line
The way Norwegian Cruise Line is recognizing teachers in the U.S. and Canada is through a vote live contest. Winners are given free cruises on their brand new ship as well as a chance to win prize money for their school.
Of the 100 teachers in the vote led contest, the top three are able to win $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000 for their school as well as a seven-day cruise for two that they can take through the end of next year.
If you have a really great teacher in mind, nominate and vote for your favorite teacher on nclgivingjoy.com. Write a few words about why that educator is so deserving. It’s recommended you also add a photo to put a face to their name.
Once you hit “nominate,” share on your social media channels so that those teachers can start getting the votes they need to actually be the winner.
All you have to do is nominate, vote, share, and make sure to tell those teachers how important they are to you!
