Retired MMA fighter Mark Muñoz is set to return to the Octagon this fall in the Philippines.
But the so-called “Filipino Wrecking Machine” won’t actually be fighting. He’ll be acting as ambassador for UFC Fight Night Manila, conducting clinics and hosting meet-and-greets with fans.
After nearly eight years as an MMA fighter, Muñoz retired last year at the age of 37.
He grew up in Vallejo, where he became a two-time state champion in wrestling. He now lives in Southern California with his family, where he owns the popular Reign Wrestling Club.
California Life spoke to Muñoz about his early years and what inspired him to become an MMA fighter.
