Arlington, VA: A very special competition took place, which isn’t really a competition, but more of a collaboration.
The Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® program winners from each of the military branches were selected to represent their individual service.

When the dust settled, the overall winner was Sarah Streyder, representing America’s newest branch: The Space Force.
Besides being a spouse of a Space Force member and an expectant mom, Sarah also heads up an organization called Secure Families Initiative.
Secure Families Initiative advocates for military families.
“I founded a nonpartisan non-profit in the hopes of helping educate my community about better ways to show up in civic ways.”
Sarah Streyder, Executive Director at Secure Families Initiative and Recipient of The Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year
She also trains military family members to be their own advocates.
She hopes that families share lived experiences directly to decision makers so that military families can be heard in new ways.
