The city of Riverside once struggled with test scores that were 1-2 grade levels behind in the Oro Grande school district- but a new method of learning at Riverside Prep School is beating the odds.

Teachers are specially trained at the school so that kids receive the most hands-on learning experience. It is the most effective form of learning that takes more hours, but offers a great payoff.

Students enjoy getting right into the fun through projects and activities that correlate to their book learning directly. The school has found that students retain more knowledge from such great engagement.

David Wylie visited Riverside Prep School and found first graders participating in a mural inspired by an artist that they were learning about, middle school kids creating a lung replica with plastic liter bottles and robots in computer science. The teachers are proud of the results of their student’s hard work.
