Airing: Episode 483, Week of Saturday March 2, 2019
He left us way too soon in life and he left his mark as a journalist and as a friend, Tom sparks life may have been cut short by his sudden passing but his family and friends are ensuring that his legacy will live on. More than 60 of Tom’s family members and closest friends gathered in Las Vegas for the first annual Tom sparks memorial golf tournament.
It was an event where laughter and fun were the order of the day just the way Tom would have wanted it. It’s a really really special day to bring back his memory and celebrate his life. The tournament was also a kickoff for the establishment of a scholarship fund for journalism students enrolled in the Annenberg School of Journalism at USC where Tom earned his degree.
It’s so important to him and USC, he went there to undergrad and graduate school, so he loved that school and it’s a perfectly appropriate way to have a tribute to Tom and his honor. Also, to help a student out who needs it, who’s looking to follow in the same career path as he was.
