Who is Ava Lynn Thuresson? New Contestant on Season 22 of ‘The Voice’

Entertainment and Lifestyle Correspondent Will Armstrong was pleased to interview Ava Lynn Thuresson, who recently joined Season 22 of The Voice.

Ava Lynn Thuresson shocked judges and fans with her take on the early-2000s Britney Spears pop song, “Baby One More Time,” making it her own with a bluesy, country/rock rendition.

Ava Lynn tells us a bit about the process and how she landed a spot on NBC’s most popular show:

“My mom sent me a link when I was in my room. I submitted a Lo-Fi, pixelated video of me singing and playing the guitar through Zoom.”

Ava Lynn shared that she’s been auditioning for The Voice since November 2021 and continued to get callbacks and auditions until she came to Los Angeles for her televised Blind Audition.

Her song- “Baby One More Time”- was not directly chosen by her. She gave them a list of songs, and the producers chose the Blind Audition song for her.

Ava Lynn admitted she was shocked to see them pick a pop song. She ended up having a ton of fun performing and playing with a Britney Spears song, sharing she’s a big fan of the artist and enjoyed “making it her own.”

After judges John Legend and Camila Cabello fought over Ava Lynn, Ava Lynn chose Camila as her coach. Ava Lynn shares she is ‘so grateful’ she chose Camila because she found Team Camila to be a wide variety of artists and ‘incredibly supportive.’
