Generac helps us prepare for wildfire season

Wildfire season is right around the corner and CEO of Generac, Aaron Jagdfeld, explains how we can prepare for it. He says to have a plan and an essential part of that plan is having a continuous source of power at your home. Utility companies are starting to use the power safety shut-offs as an important tool as a way to prevent fires, but on the contrary, this leaves us for days without power. So we must make sure our phones are charged, that we have an alternative source of power, such as a portable generator, or a home standby generator, maybe a battery cabinet, or even an energy storage unit. He claims that it is imperative to stay communicating with the outside world so that you stay as safe as possible within your own home for as long as possible. He gives us some warning for potential fires signs such as a combination of high winds and low humidity and reveals that is when the utility companies shut off the power. During a power shut-off, the companies de-energize the lines and, leave you with no communication with the outside world. That is why it is important to stay connected to an alternative energy source.
