Spring has sprung! As the new season starts off with spring cleaning, home projects and updates why not revamp your home in a tech-savvy way. Tech expert Steve Greenberg has a few helpful tips on spring home improvement.

Smartphones

Greenberg says better protecting your smartphone is a great place to start. Let’s be real… most smartphone users have experienced that heartbreaking moment when their smartphone slides out of their hands, and onto the concrete floor. The glass screen ends up shattered, cracked and sometimes even unreadable.

Luckily Batteries Plus Bulbs is prepared for this phone-shattering epidemic. With more than
700 locations around the United States, Batteries Plus Bulbs is prepared with their in-store ‘We Fix It’ repair centers. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you make an appointment at batteriesplusbulbs.com/repair you can save $10 off the cost of the repair. What a convenient way to fix the tool we use everyday.

Smart homes

For those on the go, a Smart Home can save so much time. From one simple app, you can answer your front door, adjust your home temperature or even check your videos! For those who are interested in a Smart Home, but don’t want to go through the long process of setting it up, Greenberg suggests having the experts at Vivint Smart Home do it for you. Vivint will set up everything from the video-door bell, the smart locks, the motion censors and more! You can also use voice control using Amazon Alexa or Google Home to control the system. Services are available at Best Buy and Vivent.com.

Smart yard

Yard maintenance is a must for spring. For a smart yard, Greenberg suggest the Gro 7-Zone Controller which uses real-time, local weather data to tailor irrigation to fit the needs of your lawn. If it has rained or will rain at some point in the day, the controller will not water the lawn — saving water, energy and money. The Gro 7-Zone Controller can also be used through Alexa. This is a great way to get those spring flowers blooming.

Spring is a time for rebirth and regrowth. Moreover, it is the perfect opportunity to reevaluate your home’s efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
