How to make the most of social media to grow your small business

There are more than 3.5 million small businesses in California, according to the Small Business Association, and they employ more than half of the state’s workforce.

Business expert and owner of Inc. Plan (USA) Jacques Luben says social media is key to growing a small business.

“A business Facebook can expose your products and services to consumers in an entirely different way,” Luben said. “Instead of dictating to your customers the way you do in advertising, you’re creating a community of people who are interested in your product area and introducing yourself to them and introducing them to each other. So basically, you have a dialogue going between you and your company and all of the various people on Facebook who like to know what each other is thinking.”

Luben has an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. He joined Inc. Plan in 2002, and according to his LinkedIn profile, has helped more than 10,000 entrepreneurs from every part of the world to incorporate and upgrade their new businesses.
