Southern California Hospice Foundation To Open Heavenly Home Project in Orange County Hosts Donations For Elderly Support

Imagine a place where those living out their final days can live in beautiful and peaceful surroundings with the  physical and spiritual support they need in a home like setting. That is the concept of Heavenly Home, an end of life home being established in Orange County that will give terminally ill patients an opportunity to complete their lives with peace and dignity.

With a growing need for such facilities, the Southern California Hospice Foundation has been embarked on the Heavenly Home Project, a first-of-its-kind residential, end-of-life care home in Orange County. 

Slated to open in 2021, Heavenly Home won’t be a hospice home, but a place where those with housing challenges can receive the end of life care they need in a beautiful setting. With the help of generous donations, the Heavenly Home project has purchased a six bedroom home that is being remodeled to accommodate the  special needs of hospice patients.

And that is where the Heavenly Home comes in by providing that room and board on a sliding scale based on income making it affordable for any budget. Heavenly Home is able to do that thanks to generous donations including a million dollar matching grant. 

And this is just the beginning, they are plans to establish Heavenly Homes in every county in Southern California.

At Southern California Hospice Foundation, they have a successful 18-year track record of serving terminally ill adults and children across Southern California. Healing happens at California Hospice Foundation. They have reunited families and partnered with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Harrison Ford, and Gordon Ramsay to fulfill patient’s final wishes. They also provide groceries and pay electric bills for patients and their families whose medical bills have strained their resources. They find solutions to unique problems that medical hospice agencies are not designed to provide.

They receive many requests for placement in a residence focused entirely on hospice. However, currently, no such place exists in Orange County, and there are only three nonprofit community homes for dying people statewide.

The “Heavenly Home Project” offers a solution to this problem by creating a residential nonprofit end-of-life care facility that is based on a successful national model.  In our 6 bedroom Mission Viejo home, 24-hour caregiving will be provided in coordination with medical hospice, enhanced services such as music therapy will be offered, and families will be welcomed to stay and be a part of their loved one’s final journey.
