A beautiful day on the water for homeless veterans, off the coast of San Diego at the second annual veterans fishing day made possible by the Point Loma Rotary Club and generous donors.
Rotary wants to give back to our veterans and they don’t want to leave anyone behind. They partnered up with Veterans Village of San Diego and had 40 vets that came out for a full day of fishing with everything included from the rental of rods to food. This event is truly showing them camaraderie, helping veterans out, having fun and really showing our men and women they deserve so much.
This event has helped our Vets see that they can have fun, gets them back to being themselves and puts a smile on their faces again after all they’ve been through.
“I haven’t been this happy in a long time”
Alberto Francisco Tamayo
“I for one to take home a lot of really rewarding experiences every time I come out with this group.
Bob Semerau
All of the men and women who participated take home a special memory and gain is a little more self-respect and a little more understanding. They make trips out to La Jolla and do some kelp fishing and most importantly bring awareness to everybody about our veterans here in the United States and make sure to not leave anyone behind and of course, making sure that we have people understand that Rotary is all about is giving.
