Let Joy Cone Ice Cream Cones bring the family together, sweetly.

In these uncertain times, many areas of our country are still forced to stay home to stay safe and healthy. Families are cooking most meals at home. So, what’s for dessert? Even if for a moment, Joy Cone is hoping that scooping ice cream in a cone will create a smile.

“There are so many stresses on parents and children right now with COVID-19… We are learning a new way of life. When I think about our products, it takes me back to my childhood, a time with no real worries. I am hoping when families pause to have an ice cone, they’ll have similar memories, but also look forward to better days ahead, knowing we will get through this together.”

David George, President/CEO of Joy Cone

For more than 100 years, Joy Cone has been making cones and there are a variety to choose from. From Sugar Cones to Waffle Cones, Colored Cups to Chocolatey Dipped Cones, Waffle Bowls to gluten-free cones. There is sure to be a type of cone everyone in the household will love.

The history of the ice cream cone dates back to 1904 when Ernest A. Hamwi, a Syrian immigrant, was selling a crisp, waffle-like pastry — zalabia — in a booth right next to an ice cream vendor at the St. Louis World’s Fair. Because of ice cream’s popularity, the vendor ran out of dishes. Hamwi saw a solution to the ice cream vendor’s problem: he acted fast and rolled one of his wafer-like waffles in the shape of a cone and gave it to the ice cream vendor. The cone cooled in a few seconds, the vendor put some ice cream in it and voila. The ice cream cone was on its way to becoming the great American favorite that it is today.

The entire family can spark joy by making recipes with cones. How does an Ice Cream Brownie Cone sound? Or how about Ice Cream Cupcake Cones?  You may even inspire the kids to come up with a new recipe for everyone.
