Ono Hawaiian BBQ is a family-owned, fast, casual restaurant known for its authentic Hawaiian plate lunches and other island specialties.

This year, they are celebrating their 20th Anniversary of bringing the Aloha flavor to the mainland.

It all started in 2002. Two brothers went to Hawaii and were so inspired by Hawaiian cuisine they decided to bring it to Southern California.

The first restaurant was opened in Santa Monica in 2002. Over the last twenty years, Ono Hawaiian BBQ has expanded to more than a hundred restaurants in Northern and Southern California and Arizona.

They recently celebrated 20 years of serving Aloha at their Monterey Park restaurant.

There were Hawaiian dancers, fire eating, a celebration of giveaways, and a spin wheel at the celebration. And of course, lots of good food!

The food is what keeps people coming back to Ono Hawaiian BBQ.

With a variety of dishes to choose from, their best-sellers are the Hawaiian Barbeque Mix Plate, Seafood Mix, Chicken Katsu, Crab Rangoons, and Spam Musubi. In addition, they offer catering for large and small events.

Loretta’s personal favorite is the Seafood Mix because “you get a little bit of everything.”

So what’s next for Ono? They plan to continue expanding in Northern California, Southern California, and Arizona for years to come.
